Videos/Documentaries

Here are some videos and documentaries that I have found through out my journey throughout the internet.

Affluenza (1997)

A PBS documentary on consumerism. The documentary was made into a book of the same name.

I can’t find a working link for this documentary. But if you can find it, I encourage you to watch it!

The Story of Stuff

A short movie that was made into a book, reviewed here.
From the description of the video:

“From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life foreve”

The Century of the Self

This is a documentary about how the rise of modern psychology was weaponized by marketers to their benefit.
